We have begun working on the development of Focus on Form / Focus on Forms–oriented English course content for our students.

As a result of the studies jointly conducted by Dr. Lecturer İsmail Gürler from the SUBÜ School of Foreign Languages with the Second Language Acquisition Department at Indiana University (USA) within the scope of his TÜBİTAK 2219 Post-Doctoral Research, efforts have been initiated to develop course content specifically for the students of our faculty. In this process, a comprehensive needs analysis will constitute the first step.

An online introductory and planning meeting was held on Thursday, February 13, 2025, with the participation of our Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Sinan Esen, Head of the Department of International Trade and Finance Assoc. Prof. Dr. Metin Saygılı, Deputy Head of the Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zafer Adıgüzel, and Dr. Lecturer İsmail Gürler, who continues his related academic work in the United States.

Based on the analysis results obtained from the study, the course contents to be developed will be integrated into the education program by taking into account students’ needs and individual learning characteristics.
